We are very excited about Oxnard's newest attraction the Mullin Automotive Museum which opened April 15, 2010.  With one of the world's great private collections of French motorcars from the 1920's and 30's, the Mullin Automotive Museum, located at the site of the former car collection of the late Otis Chandler, will surely become one of the area's most popular attractions for the car enthusiast.  The museum celebrates the classical art deco of vehicular design with more than 100 cars as well as decorative art, photography and French furnishings from the Art Deco era.  "The Mullin", as it is already being called, incorporates Deco design throughout the museum - from the light fixtures to the elevator gates and cage leading to a mezzanine of Grand Prix and Le Mans racers with the more recent Bugatti prototypes.  The banners in Deco script tout such legendary French marques as Delage, Delahaye, Hispano-Suiza, Talbot-Lago and Voisin.

No expense has been spared when displaying the automobiles with their teardrop fenders, curvaceous grills and streamlined hoods - each more beautiful than the one that came before it.  The cars are often accompanied by matching haute couture from the era.

The Mullin Automotive Museum promises to be another must-see attraction for the classic car fan - as if California car lovers weren't already spoiled with the world-class Concours in Dana Point, Monterrey, Palm Springs, Palos Verdes, and Pasadena as well as the Petersen and Nethercutt Collections.

After the extensive remake by Interscape Construction utilizing the talents of architect David Hertz, the unique 46,821 square foot museum was designed with the environment in mind and includes a "green" roof, a gift shop, theater, and archives.
